POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Designer reports to the Design Manager Located in Pittsburg PA, Columbus, OH or Cleveland OH Full-Time Hybrid A s a Senior Designer is responsible working independently and in collaboration with the sales force to sell foodservice design services to customers, creating unique design concepts that meet the operational and visual needs of our customers, and developing technical documents for construction coordination and bidding.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Interact with customers to identify commercial foodservice equipment needs and promote the benefits of Trimark’s various design services Perform site visits to survey existing conditions, gather project information, or identify equipment needs Determine size, scope, and budget of a project through effective communication with customer. Offer equipment recommendations based on industry knowledge Work independently to create commercial foodservice equipment designs that utilize available floor space and meet the customer’s operational and budgetary requirements Must be able to utilize AutoCad and/or Revit to coordinate with design team members Must have sound technical understanding of plumbing and electrical systems and be able to identify and locate utility services and building conditions required for proper installation of foodservice equipment Produce construction document sets and collaborate with architects and engineers for integration of foodservice equipment designs and utility rough-in drawings into overall project Produce foodservice equipment elevations and incorporate appropriate construction details Must be able to proactively communicate and manage lead times. It is essential that project needs are met timely Must be able to identify and produce complete scope of work for project, including trade responsibilities, installation requirements, and manufacture specifications with selected accessories Effectively communicate with foodservice equipment manufacturers to drive the development of shop drawings for custom or modified equipment related to a design Prepare itemized foodservice equipment budgets Review and approve submittal packages provided by kitchen equipment contractor to ensure adherence to design intent Be an industry leader in advancing the latest design technology and industry innovations Respond to requests for information (RFI’s) timely Conduct site visits and generate a punch list during project installation Conduct oneself in a professional manner that fosters positive relations with customers, vendors, and internal company personnel Grow design revenue annually Participate in department meetings and vendor training sessions Other duties as assigned by Manager

COMPETENCIES:

Ability to work independently and exercise good judgement in all aspects of position Ability to create effective commercial designs operating within loose or limited sets of constraints Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team Strong communication skills, both oral and written Flexible in schedule to enable the company to meet customer needs – overtime and weekends may be necessary and required Foster positive relations and communications with departmental personnel, IT, Purchasing, Installers, Sales, Marketing, and other TriMark Division design/contract management departments Strong relationship building skills with customers, general contractors, architects, manufacturers and vendors, and other trades on job sites Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent customer service attitude Critical thinking and problem solving Excellent presentation and selling skills Good business acumen Ability to read architectural drawings

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or related discipline 5-15 years’ experience designing in the foodservice industry Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit Must complete CFSP Test within first 3 years of employment Experienced in various market segments of design Extensive knowledge of BIM practices, standards and techniques Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office products & AutoQuotes Basic working knowledge of general construction, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing #PMIndeed The range provided represents the national average pay range for this position and is considered to be a general guideline. Pay for this position will reflect the candidate’s unique qualifications and may be higher or lower than the range provided based on employee geographic location. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other local, state, and federal law.
